           “Verypleasedtoseeyou,Prince,”hesaid.“Onemoment...”hewenton,turningtoMagnítskiandinterruptinghisstory.“Wehaveagreedthatthisisadinnerforrecreation,withnotawordaboutbusiness!”andturningagaintothenarratorhebegantolaughafresh.

           PrinceAndrewlookedatthelaughingSperánskiwithastonishment,regret,anddisillusionment.
