           “Well,that’sall!”saidKutúzovashesignedthelastofthedocuments,andrisingheavilyandsmoothingoutthefoldsinhisfatwhiteneckhemovedtowardthedoorwithamorecheerfulexpression.

           Thepriest’swife,flushingrosyred,caughtupthedishshehadafterallnotmanagedtopresentattherightmoment,thoughshehadsolongbeenpreparingforit,andwithalowbowofferedittoKutúzov.
