           “Buthowgetmarried?”saidPierre,inanswertoMáryaDmítrievna.“Hecouldnotmarry—heismarried!”

           “Thingsgetworsefromhourtohour!”ejaculatedMáryaDmítrievna.“Aniceyouth!Whatascoundrel!Andshe’sexpectinghim—expectinghimsinceyesterday.Shemustbetold!Thenatleastshewon’tgoonexpectinghim.”
