           “Doorderthemtoformintobattalioncolumnsandgoroundthevillage!”hesaidangrilytoageneralwhohadriddenup.“Don’tyouunderstand,yourexcellency,mydearsir,thatyoumustnotdefilethroughnarrowvillagestreetswhenwearemarchingagainsttheenemy?”

           “Iintendedtore-formthembeyondthevillage,yourexcellency,”answeredthegeneral.
