Incavalierattendanceupontheschooloffemales,youinvariablyseeamaleoffullgrownmagnitude,butnotold;who,uponanyalarm,evinceshisgallantrybyfallingintherearandcoveringtheflightofhisladies.Intruth,thisgentlemanisaluxuriousOttoman,swimmingaboutoverthewateryworld,surroundinglyaccompaniedbyallthesolacesandendearmentsoftheharem.ThecontrastbetweenthisOttomanandhisconcubinesisstriking;because,whileheisalwaysofthelargestleviathanicproportions,theladies,evenatfullgrowth,arenotmorethanone-thirdofthebulkofanaverage-sizedmale.Theyarecomparativelydelicate,indeed;Idaresay,nottoexceedhalfadozenyardsroundthewaist.Nevertheless,itcannotbedenied,thatuponthewholetheyarehereditarilyentitledtoembonpoint.
