           Nimbleasacat,Tashtegomountsaloft;andwithoutalteringhiserectposture,runsstraightoutupontheoverhangingmainyard-arm,tothepartwhereitexactlyprojectsoverthehoistedTun.Hehascarriedwithhimalighttacklecalledawhip,consistingofonlytwoparts,travellingthroughasingle-sheavedblock.Securingthisblock,sothatithangsdownfromtheyard-arm,heswingsoneendoftherope,tillitiscaughtandfirmlyheldbyahandonthedeck.Then,hand-over-hand,downtheotherpart,theIndiandropsthroughtheair,tilldexterouslyhelandsonthesummitofthehead.Therestillhighelevatedabovetherestofthecompany,towhomhevivaciouslycriesheseemssomeTurkishMuezzincallingthegoodpeopletoprayersfromthetopofatower.Ashort-handledsharpspadebeingsentuptohim,hediligentlysearchesfortheproperplacetobeginbreakingintotheTun.Inthisbusinessheproceedsveryheedfully,likeatreasure-hunterinsomeoldhouse,soundingthewallstofindwherethegoldismasonedin.Bythetimethiscautioussearchisover,astoutironboundbucket,preciselylikeawell-bucket,hasbeenattachedtooneendofthewhip;whiletheotherend,beingstretchedacrossthedeck,isthereheldbytwoorthreealerthands.TheselastnowhoistthebucketwithingraspoftheIndian,towhomanotherpersonhasreachedupaverylongpole.
