           “Yes;buthowwasit?Wasn’thetobeatthecouncil?”

           “Hehadbeenandcomeback,andwasgoingoutsomewhereagain.Butthat’snomatter.Don’ttalkaboutit.Wherehaveyoubeen?Withtheprincestill?”

           Shekneweverydetailofhisexistence.Hewasgoingtosaythathehadbeenupallnightandhaddroppedasleep,butlookingatherthrilledandrapturousface,hewasashamed.Andhesaidhehadhadtogotoreportontheprince’sdeparture.
