           Themudwasimpassablealongtheroads;twomillswerecarriedaway,andtheweathergotworseandworse.

           Onthe30thofSeptemberthesuncameoutinthemorning,andhopingforfineweather,Levinbeganmakingfinalpreparationsforhisjourney.Hegaveordersforthewheattobedelivered,sentthebailifftothemerchanttogetthemoneyowinghim,andwentouthimselftogivesomefinaldirectionsontheestatebeforesettingoff.
