           Alreadysheheardbellsringingtoannounceherarrivalaheadofher,andPrincessTverskaya’sfootmanwasstandingattheopendoorwaitingforhertogoforwardintotheinnerrooms.

           “Theprincessisinthegarden;theywillinformherimmediately.Wouldyoubepleasedtowalkintothegarden?”announcedanotherfootmaninanotherroom.

           TherewasprobablysomethingunusualaboutAnna,forBetsynoticeditatonce.
