           Meanwhilespringcameon,beautifulandkindly,withoutthedelaysandtreacheriesofspring,oneofthoserarespringsinwhichplants,beasts,andmanrejoicealike.ThislovelyspringrousedLevinstillmore,andstrengthenedhiminhisresolutionofrenouncingallhispastandbuildinguphislonelylifefirmlyandindependently.Thoughmanyoftheplanswithwhichhehadreturnedtothecountryhadnotbeencarriedout,stillhismostimportantresolutionthatofpurityhadbeenkeptbyhim.
