           Vronsky’scomposureandself-confidenceherestruck,likeascytheagainstastone,uponthecoldself-confidenceofAlexeyAlexandrovitch.

           ByaddressinghiswifelikethishegaveVronskytounderstandthathewishedtobeleftalone,and,turningslightlytowardshim,hetouchedhishat;butVronskyturnedtoAnnaArkadyevna.

           “IhopeImayhavethehonorofcallingonyou,”hesaid.

           AlexeyAlexandrovitchglancedwithhiswearyeyesatVronsky.
