           Thebabywastakenoutofthebath,drenchedwithwater,wrappedintowels,dried,andafterapiercingscream,handedtohismother.

           Shelistenedattentively,lookingathimoverthebaby,whilesheputbackonherslenderfingerstheringsshehadtakenoffwhilegivingMityahisbath.

           Kitty’ssmilewasradiant.
