           Despitethesurroundingofstrongwallsmoreresemblingthoseofafortressthanagentleman’sdwellingtheinmatesofCasadelCorvowerenotexceptedfromthisfeelingofapprehension,universalalongthefrontier.AsyettheyknewlittleoftheIndians,andthatlittleonlyfromreport;but,daybyday,theywerebecomingbetteracquaintedwiththecharacterofthisnatural"terror"thatinterferedwiththeslumbersoftheirfellowsettlers.
