           Dresses,lesssplendidthanthedressshewore,andhalf-packedtrunks,werescatteredabout.Shehadnotquitefinisheddressing,forshehadbutoneshoeontheotherwasonthetablenearherhandherveilwasbuthalfarranged,herwatchandchainwerenotputon,andsomelaceforherbosomlaywiththosetrinkets,andwithherhandkerchief,andgloves,andsomeflowers,andaPrayer–Bookallconfusedlyheapedaboutthelooking-glass.
