           Thesecondofthetwomeetingsreferredtointhelastchapteroccurredaboutaweekafterthefirst.IhadagainleftmyboatatthewharfbelowBridge;thetimewasanhourearlierintheafternoon;and,undecidedwheretodine,IhadstrolledupintoCheapside,andwasstrollingalongit,surelythemostunsettledpersoninallthebusyconcourse,whenalargehandwaslaiduponmyshoulderbysomeoneovertakingme.ItwasMr.Jaggers’shand,andhepasseditthroughmyarm.

           "Aswearegoinginthesamedirection,Pip,wemaywalktogether.Whereareyouboundfor?"

           "FortheTemple,Ithink,"saidI.
