Mysister,Mrs.Joe,withblackhairandeyes,hadsuchaprevailingrednessofskinthatIsometimesusedtowonderwhetheritwaspossibleshewashedherselfwithanutmeg-graterinsteadofsoap.Shewastallandbony,andalmostalwaysworeacoarseapron,fastenedoverherfigurebehindwithtwoloops,andhavingasquareimpregnablebibinfront,thatwasstuckfullofpinsandneedles.Shemadeitapowerfulmeritinherself,andastrongreproachagainstJoe,thatsheworethisapronsomuch.ThoughIreallyseenoreasonwhysheshouldhavewornitatall;orwhy,ifshedidwearitatall,sheshouldnothavetakenitoff,everydayofherlife.
