           Resoluteandwildoflook,rapidoffootandyetweakanduncertain,conspicuouslydressedinitsblackgarmentsandwithitshurriedhead-covering,gauntandofanunearthlypaleness,itpressedforward,takingnomoreheedofthethrongthanasleep-walker.Moreremarkablebybeingsoremovedfromthecrowditwasamongthanifithadbeenliftedonapedestaltobeseen,thefigureattractedalleyes.Saunterersprickeduptheirattentiontoobserveit;busypeople,crossingit,slackenedtheirpaceandturnedtheirheads;companionspausingandstandingaside,whisperedoneanothertolookatthisspectralwomanwhowascomingby;andthesweepofthefigureasitpassedseemedtocreateavortex,drawingthemostidleandmostcuriousafterit.
