           Formanymonthsafterthiswecontinuedtoliveonourislandinuninterruptedharmonyandhappiness.Sometimeswewentouta-fishinginthelagoon,andsometimeswenta-huntinginthewoods,orascendedtothemountain-topbywayofvariety,althoughPeterkinalwaysassertedthatwewentforthepurposeofhailinganyshipthatmightchancetoheaveinsight.ButIamcertainthatnoneofuswishedtobedeliveredfromourcaptivity,forwewereextremelyhappy;andPeterkinusedtosaythataswewereveryyoung,weshouldnotfeelthelossofayearortwo.Peterkin,asIhavesaidbefore,wasthirteenyearsofage,Jackeighteen,andIfifteen.ButJackwasverytall,strong,andmanlyforhisage,andmighteasilyhavebeenmistakenfortwenty.
