Anexcellentunderstandinghavingbeenbythesemeanspromoted,Mr.Smangleproceededtoentertainhishearerswitharelationofdiversromanticadventuresinwhichhehadbeenfromtimetotimeengaged,involvingvariousinterestinganecdotesofathoroughbredhorse,andamagnificentJewess,bothofsurpassingbeauty,andmuchcovetedbythenobilityandgentryofthesekingdoms.
Longbeforetheseelegantextractsfromthebiographyofagentlemanwereconcluded,Mr.Mivinshadbetakenhimselftobed,andhadsetinsnoringforthenight,leavingthetimidstrangerandMr.PickwicktothefullbenefitofMr.Smangle’sexperiences.
