           ‘Iwillnot,sir,’rejoinedPott.

           ‘Oh,youwon’t,won’tyou,sir?’saidMr.Slurk,inatauntingmanner;‘youhearthis,gentlemen!Hewon’t;notthathe’safraidoh,no!heWON’T.Ha!ha!’

           ‘Iconsideryou,sir,’saidMr.Pott,movedbythissarcasm,‘Iconsideryouaviper.Ilookuponyou,sir,asamanwhohasplacedhimselfbeyondthepaleofsociety,byhismostaudacious,disgraceful,andabominablepublicconduct.Iviewyou,sir,personallyandpolitically,innootherlightthanasamostunparalleledandunmitigatedviper.
