Mr.BobSawyer,whowashabitedinacoarse,bluecoat,which,withoutbeingeitheragreatcoatorasurtout,partookofthenatureandqualitiesofboth,hadabouthimthatsortofslovenlysmartness,andswaggeringgait,whichispeculiartoyounggentlemenwhosmokeinthestreetsbyday,shoutandscreaminthesamebynight,callwaitersbytheirChristiannames,anddovariousotheractsanddeedsofanequallyfacetiousdescription.Heworeapairofplaidtrousers,andalarge,rough,double-breastedwaistcoat;outofdoors,hecarriedathickstickwithabigtop.
