           ‘UnworthinessforHERonly,mind,sir,’resumedMr.Pickwick;‘fortoshowthatIwasnotwhollyunworthy,sir,Ishouldtakeabriefreviewofmypastlife,andpresentcondition.Ishouldargue,byanalogy,thattoanybodyelse,Imustbeaverydesirableobject.Ishouldthenexpatiateonthewarmthofmylove,andthedepthofmydevotion.PerhapsImightthenbetemptedtoseizeherhand.’

           ‘Yes,Isee,’saidMr.Magnus;‘thatwouldbeaverygreatpoint.’

           ‘Ishouldthen,Sir,’continuedMr.Pickwick,growingwarmerasthesubjectpresenteditselfinmoreglowingcoloursbeforehim‘Ishouldthen,Sir,cometotheplainandsimplequestion,"Willyouhaveme?"IthinkIamjustifiedinassumingthatuponthis,shewouldturnawayherhead.’
