           Meanwhile,Mr.Winkleflashed,andblazed,andsmokedaway,withoutproducinganymaterialresultsworthyofbeingnoteddown;sometimesexpendinghischargeinmid-air,andatotherssendingitskimmingalongsonearthesurfaceofthegroundastoplacethelivesofthetwodogsonaratheruncertainandprecarioustenure.Asadisplayoffancy-shooting,itwasextremelyvariedandcurious;asanexhibitionoffiringwithanypreciseobject,itwas,uponthewhole,perhapsafailure.Itisanestablishedaxiom,that‘everybullethasitsbillet.
