Thestable-yardexhibitedunequivocalsymptomsofthegloryandstrengthoftheEatanswillBlues.Therewasaregulararmyofblueflags,somewithonehandle,andsomewithtwo,exhibitingappropriatedevices,ingoldencharactersfourfeethigh,andstoutinproportion.Therewasagrandbandoftrumpets,bassoons,anddrums,marshalledfourabreast,andearningtheirmoney,ifevermendid,especiallythedrum-beaters,whowereverymuscular.Therewerebodiesofconstableswithbluestaves,twentycommittee-menwithbluescarfs,andamobofvoterswithbluecockades.Therewereelectorsonhorsebackandelectorsafoot.
