           "Notatall.ThisboatisattachedtotheupperpartofthehulloftheNautilus,andoccupiesacavitymadeforit.Itisdecked,quitewater-tight,andheldtogetherbysolidbolts.Thisladderleadstoaman-holemadeinthehulloftheNautilus,thatcorrespondswithasimilarholemadeinthesideoftheboat.BythisdoubleopeningIgetintothesmallvessel.TheyshuttheonebelongingtotheNautilus;Ishuttheotherbymeansofscrewpressure.Iundothebolts,andthelittleboatgoesuptothesurfaceoftheseawithprodigiousrapidity.Ithenopenthepanelofthebridge,carefullyshuttillthen;Imastit,hoistmysail,takemyoars,andI’moff."
