           MariawasmoretobepitiedthanJulia;fortoherthefatherbroughtahusband,andthereturnofthefriendmostsolicitousforherhappinesswouldunitehertothelover,onwhomshehadchosenthathappinessshoulddepend.Itwasagloomyprospect,andallshecoulddowastothrowamistoverit,andhopewhenthemistclearedawaysheshouldseesomethingelse.ItwouldhardlybeearlyinNovember,thereweregenerallydelays,abadpassageorsomething;thatfavouringsomethingwhicheverybodywhoshutstheireyeswhiletheylook,ortheirunderstandingswhiletheyreason,feelsthecomfortof.ItwouldprobablybethemiddleofNovemberatleast;themiddleofNovemberwasthreemonthsoff.Threemonthscomprisedthirteenweeks.Muchmighthappeninthirteenweeks.
