Thesewordswereheardbymany,forthehouseofFinwewasinthegreatsquarebeneaththeMindon;butagainFingolfinmadenoanswer,andpassingthroughthethronginsilencehewenttoseekFinarfinhisbrother.
NowtheunrestoftheNoldorwasnotindeedhiddenfromtheValar,butitsseedhadbeensowninthedark;andtherefore,sinceFeanorfirstspokeopenlyagainstthem,theyjudgedthathewasthemoverofdiscontent,beingeminentinself-willandarrogance,thoughalltheNoldorhadbecomeproud.
