InthatlastbattlewereMithrandir,andthesonsofElrond,andtheKingofRohan,andlordsofGondor,andtheHeirofIsildurwiththeDunedainoftheNorth.Thereatthelasttheylookedupondeathanddefeat,andalltheirvalourwasinvain;forSauronwastoostrong.YetinthathourwasputtotheproofthatwhichMithrandirhadspoken,andhelpcamefromthehandsoftheweakwhentheWisefaltered.For,asmanysongshavesincesung,itwasthePeriannath,theLittlePeople,dwellersinhillsidesandmeadows,thatbroughtthemdeliverance.
