TheNoldorafterwardscamebacktoMiddle-earth,andthistaletellsmostlyoftheirdeeds;thereforethenamesandkinshipoftheirprincesmayherebetold,inthatformwhichthesenameslaterboreinthetongueoftheElvesofBeleriand.
FinwewasKingoftheNoldor.ThesonsofFinwewereFeanor,andFingolfin,andFinarfin;butthemotherofFeanorwasMirielSerinde,whereasthemotherofFingolfinandFinarfinwasIndisoftheVanyar.Feanorwasthemightiestinskillofwordandofhand,morelearnedthanhisbrothers;hisspiritburnedasaflame.Fingolfinwasthestrongest,themoststeadfast,andthemostvaliant.Finarfinwasthefairest,andthemostwiseofheart;andafterwardshewasafriendofthesonsofOlwe,lordoftheTeleri,andhadtowifeEarwen,theswan-maidenofAlqualonde,Olwe’sdaughter.
