ButwhenInziladunaccededtothesceptre,hetookagainatitleintheElven-tongueasofold,callinghimselfTar-Palantir,forhewasfar-sightedbothineyeandinmind,andeventhosethathatedhimfearedhiswordsasthoseofatrue-seer.HegavepeaceforawhiletotheFaithful;andhewentoncemoreatdueseasonstotheHallowofEruupontheMeneltarma,whichAr-Gimilzorhadforsaken.TheWhiteTreehetendedagainwithhonour;andheprophesied,sayingthatwhentheTreeperished,thenalsowouldthelineoftheKingscometoitsend.ButhisrepentancewastoolatetoappeasetheangeroftheValarwiththeinsolenceofhisfathers,ofwhichthegreaterpartofhispeopledidnotrepent.
