           Attwelvethismanwasreplacedbyanotherfunctionary,andDanglars,wishingtocatchsightofhisnewguardian,approachedthedooragain.Hewasanathletic,giganticbandit,withlargeeyes,thicklips,andaflatnose;hisredhairfellindishevelledmasseslikesnakesaroundhisshoulders."Ah,ha,"criedDanglars,"thisfellowismorelikeanogrethananythingelse;however,Iamrathertoooldandtoughtobeverygoodeating!"WeseethatDanglarswascollectedenoughtojest;atthesametime,asthoughtodisprovetheogreishpropensities,themantooksomeblackbread,cheese,andonionsfromhiswallet,whichhebegandevouringvoraciously.
