Whitewasthatshipandlongwasita-building,andlongitawaitedtheendofwhichCirdanhadspoken.Butwhenallthesethingsweredone,andtheHeirofIsildurhadtakenupthelordshipofMen,andthedominionoftheWesthadpassedtohim,thenitwasmadeplainthatthepoweroftheThreeRingsalsowasended,andtotheFirstborntheworldgrewoldandgrey.InthattimethelastoftheNoldorsetsailfromtheHavensandleftMiddle-earthforever.AndlatestofalltheKeepersoftheThreeRingsrodetotheSea,andMasterElrondtooktheretheshipthatCirdanhadmadeready.InthetwilightofautumnitsailedoutofMithlond,untiltheseasoftheBentWorldfellawaybeneathit,andthewindsoftheroundskytroubleditnomore,andborneuponthehighairsabovethemistsoftheworlditpassedintotheAncientWest,andanendwascomefortheEldarofstoryandofsong.
