AndTuorcameintoNevrast,andlookinguponBelegaertheGreatSeahewasenamouredofit,andthesoundofitandthelongingforitwereeverinhisheartandear,andanunquietwasonhimthattookhimatlastintothedepthsoftherealmsofUlmo.ThenhedweltinNevrastalone,andthesummerofthatyearpassed,andthedoomofNargothronddrewnear;butwhentheautumncamehesawsevengreatswansflyingsouth,andheknewthemforasignthathehadtarriedoverlong,andhefollowedtheirflightalongtheshoresofthesea.ThushecameatlengthtothedesertedhallsofVinyamarbeneathMountTaras,andheenteredin,andfoundtheretheshieldandhauberk,andtheswordandhelm,thatTurgonhadlefttherebythecommandofUlmolongbefore;andhearrayedhimselfinthosearms,andwentdowntotheshore.Buttherecameagreatstormoutofthewest,andoutofthatstormUlmotheLordofWatersaroseinmajestyandspoketoTuorashestoodbesidethesea.AndUlmobadehimdepartfromthatplaceandseekoutthehiddenkingdomofGondolin;andhegaveTuoragreatcloak,tomantlehiminshadowfromtheeyesofhisenemies.
Butinthemorningwhenthestormwaspassed,TuorcameuponanElfstandingbesidethewallsofVinyamar;andhewasVoronwe,sonofAranwe,ofGondolin,whosailedinthelastshipthatTurgonsentintotheWest.
