NowHurinjourneyedeastward,andhecametotheMeresofTwilightabovetheFallsofSirion;andtherehewastakenbytheElvesthatguardedthewesternmarchesofDoriath,andbroughtbeforeKingThingolintheThousandCaves.ThenThingolwasfilledwithwonderandgriefwhenhelookedonhim,andknewthatgrimandagedmanforHurinThalion,thecaptiveofMorgoth;buthegreetedhimfairlyandshowedhimhonour.
