ButCaranthir,wholovednotthesonsofFinarfin,andwastheharshestofthebrothersandthemostquicktoanger,criedaloud:’Yeamore!LetnotthesonsofFinarfinrunhitherandthitherwiththeirtalestothisDarkElfinhiscaves!Whomadethemourspokesmentodealwithhim?AndthoughtheybecomeindeedtoBeleriand,letthemnotsoswiftlyforgetthattheirfatherisalordoftheNoldor,thoughtheirmotherbeofotherkin.’
ThenAngrodwaswrathfulandwentforthfromthecouncil.MaedhrosindeedrebukedCaranthir;butthegreaterpartoftheNoldor,ofbothfollowings,hearinghiswordsweretroubledinheart,fearingthefellspiritofthesonsofFeanorthatitseemedwouldeverbeliketoburstforthinrashwordorviolence.ButMaedhrosrestrainedhisbrothers,andtheydepartedfromthecouncil,andsoonafterwardstheyleftMithrimandwenteastwardbeyondArostothewidelandsabouttheHillofHimring.
