           Ihavenodoubt,indeed,thatsheprobedtheDoctor’swoundwithoutknowingit.Meaningnothingbutacertainmaturedfrivolityandselfishness,notalwaysinseparablefromfull-blownyears,Ithinksheconfirmedhiminhisfearthathewasaconstraintuponhisyoungwife,andthattherewasnocongenialityoffeelingbetweenthem,bysostronglycommendinghisdesignoflighteningtheloadofherlife.
