InthefirstbeginningoftheyearMorwengavebirthtoherchild,thedaughterofHurin;andshenamedherNienor,whichisMourning.ButTurinandhiscompanionspassingthroughgreatperilscameatlasttothebordersofDoriath;andtheretheywerefoundbyBelegStrongbow,chiefofthemarchwardensofKingThingol,wholedthemtoMenegroth.ThenThingolreceivedTurin,andtookhimeventohisownfostering,inhonourofHurintheSteadfast;forThingol’smoodwaschangedtowardsthehousesoftheElf-friends.
