NowHadorLorindol,sonofHathol,sonofMagor,sonofMalachAradan,enteredthehouseholdofFingolfininhisyouth,andwaslovedbytheKing.FingolfinthereforegavetohimthelordshipofDor-lomin,andintothatlandhegatheredmostofthepeopleofhiskin,andbecamethemightiestofthechieftainsoftheEdain.InhishouseonlytheElven-tonguewasspoken;buttheirownspeechwasnotforgotten,andfromitcamethecommontongueofNumenor.
ButinDorthonionthelordshipofthepeopleofBeorandthecountryofLadroswasgiventoBoromir,sonofBoron,whowasthegrandsonofBeortheOld.
