ThenCaranthirlookedkindlyuponMenanddidHalethgreathonour;andheofferedherrecompenseforherfatherandbrother.Andseeing,overlate,whatvalourtherewasintheEdain,hesaidtoher:’Ifyouwillremoveanddwellfurthernorth,thereyoushallhavethefriendshipandprotectionoftheEldar,andfreelandsofyourown.’
