           TheemperorofBlefuscu,havingtakenthreedaystoconsult,returnedananswerconsistingofmanycivilitiesandexcuses.Hesaid,"thatasforsendingmebound,hisbrotherknewitwasimpossible;that,althoughIhaddeprivedhimofhisfleet,yetheowedgreatobligationstomeformanygoodofficesIhaddonehiminmakingthepeace.That,however,boththeirmajestieswouldsoonbemadeeasy;forIhadfoundaprodigiousvesselontheshore,abletocarrymeonthesea,whichhehadgivenorderstofitup,withmyownassistanceanddirection;andhehoped,inafewweeks,bothempireswouldbefreedfromsoinsupportableanencumbrance."
