           Once,atnurseryschool,hisfriendScotthadpointedoutaboynamedRobinStenger,whowasmopingaroundtheswingswithafacealmostlongenoughtostepon.Robin’sfathertaughtarithmeticatDaddy’sschool,andScott’sdaddytaughthistorythere.MostofthekidsatthenurseryschoolwereassociatedeitherwithStovingtonPreporwiththesmallIBMplantjustoutsideoftown.Theprepkidschummedinonegroup,theIBMkidsinanother.Therewerecrossfriendships,ofcourse,butitwasnaturalenoughforthekidswhosefatherskneweachothertomoreorlesssticktogether.Whentherewasanadultscandalinonegroup,italmostalwaysfiltereddowntothechildreninsomewildlymutatedformorother,butitrarelyjumpedtotheothergroup.
