Yossariancouldrunintothehospitalwheneverhewantedtobecauseofhisliverandbecauseofhiseyes;thedoctorscouldn’tfixhisliverconditionandcouldn’tmeethiseyeseachtimehetoldthemhehadalivercondition.Hecouldenjoyhimselfinthehospital,justaslongastherewasnoonereallyverysickinthesameward.Hissystemwassturdyenoughtosurviveacaseofsomeoneelse’smalariaorinfluenzawithscarcelyanydiscomfortatall.Hecouldcomethroughotherpeople’stonsillectomieswithoutsufferinganypostoperativedistress,andevenenduretheirherniasandhemorrhoidswithonlymildnauseaandrevulsion.Butthatwasjustaboutasmuchashecouldgothroughwithoutgettingsick.Afterthathewasreadytobolt.Hecouldrelaxinthehospital,sincenoonethereexpectedhimtodoanything.Allhewasexpectedtodointhehospitalwasdieorgetbetter,andsincehewasperfectlyallrighttobeginwith,gettingbetterwaseasy.
BeinginthehospitalwasbetterthanbeingoverBolognaorflyingoverAvignonwithHupleandDobbsatthecontrolsandSnowdendyinginback.
