           OldPrinceNicholasBolkónskireceivedaletterfromPrinceVasíliinNovember,1805,announcingthatheandhissonwouldbepayinghimavisit.“Iamstartingonajourneyofinspection,andofcourseIshallthinknothingofanextraseventymilestocomeandseeyouatthesametime,myhonoredbenefactor,”wrotePrinceVasíli.“MysonAnatoleisaccompanyingmeonhiswaytothearmy,soIhopeyouwillallowhimpersonallytoexpressthedeeprespectthat,emulatinghisfather,hefeelsforyou.”
