Then,emphasisinghiswordswithhisloudvoiceandfrequentgestures,herelatedthehistoryoftheMormonsfromBiblicaltimes:howthat,inIsrael,aMormonprophetofthetribeofJosephpublishedtheannalsofthenewreligion,andbequeathedthemtohissonMormon;how,manycenturieslater,atranslationofthispreciousbook,whichwaswritteninEgyptian,wasmadebyJosephSmith,junior,aVermontfarmer,whorevealedhimselfasamysticalprophetin1825;andhow,inshort,thecelestialmessengerappearedtohiminanilluminatedforest,andgavehimtheannalsoftheLord.
