The First Task

           HarrygotuponSundaymorninganddressedsoinattentivelythatitwasawhilebeforeherealizedhewastryingtopullhishatontohisfootinsteadofhissock.Whenhe’dfinallygotallhisclothesontherightpartsofhisbody,hehurriedofftofindHermione,locatingherattheGryffindortableintheGreatHall,whereshewaseatingbreakfastwithGinny.Feelingtooqueasytoeat,HarrywaiteduntilHermionehadswallowedherlastspoonfulofporridge,thendraggedheroutontothegrounds.There,hetoldherallaboutthedragons,andabouteverythingSiriushadsaid,whiletheytookanotherlongwalkaroundthelake.

           AlarmedasshewasbySirius’swarningsaboutKarkaroff,Hermionestillthoughtthatthedragonswerethemorepressingproblem.

           "Let’sjusttryandkeepyoualiveuntilTuesdayevening,"shesaiddesperately,"andthenwecanworryaboutKarkaroff."

           Theywalkedthreetimesaroundthelake,tryingallthewaytothinkofasimplespellthatwouldsubdueadragon.Nothingwhatsoeveroccurredtothem,sotheyretiredtothelibraryinstead.Here,Harrypulleddowneverybookhecouldfindondragons,andbothofthemsettoworksearchingthroughthelargepile.
