Yearsago,whenIwasmuchyoungerandstupider,Iwroteablogpost,andattheendofitIsaidsomethinglike,“Andasagreatphilosopheroncesaid:‘Withgreatpowercomesgreatresponsibility.’”Itsoundedniceandauthoritative.Icouldn’trememberwhohadsaidit,andmyGooglesearchhadturnedupnothing,butIstuckitinthereanyway.Itfitthepostnicely.
Abouttenminuteslater,thefirstcommentcamein:“Ithinkthe‘greatphilosopher’you’rereferringtoisUncleBenfromthemovieSpider-Man.”
Asanothergreatphilosopheroncesaid,“Doh!”
“Withgreatpowercomesgreatresponsibility.”ThelastwordsofUncleBenbeforeathiefwhomPeterParkerletgetawaymurdershimonasidewalkfullofpeopleforabsolutelynoexplicablereason.Thatgreatphilosopher.
