Theshadowsofthepalmtreesslantedacrossthefreeway-defined,sharperthanIremembered,palerthantheyshouldbe.Nothingcouldhideintheseshadows.Thebright,openfreewayseemedbenignenough.ButIfeltnorelief,nosenseofhomecoming.
