           Dumbledoreraisedhisblackened,uselesshand,andexamineditwiththeexpressionofonebeingshownaninterestingcurio.

           "Youhavedoneverywell,Severus.HowlongdoyouthinkIhave?"

           Dumbledoresmiled.Thenewsthathehadlessthanayeartoliveseemedamatteroflittleornoconcerntohim.

           "Iamfortunate,extremelyfortunate,thatIhaveyou,Severus."

           "Ifyouhadonlysummonedmealittleearlier,Imighthavebeenabletodomore,buyyoumoretime!"saidSnapefuriously.Helookeddownatthebrokenringandthesword."Didyouthinkthatbreakingtheringwouldbreakthecurse?"

           "Somethinglikethat…Iwasdelirious,nodoubt…"saidDumbledore.
