           Unfortunately,onesideeffectoftheInternetandsocialmediaisthatit’sbecomeeasierthanevertopushresponsibility—foreventhetiniestofinfractions—ontosomeothergrouporperson.Infact,thiskindofpublicblame/shamegamehasbecomepopular;incertaincrowdsit’sevenseenas“cool.”Thepublicsharingof“injustices”garnersfarmoreattentionandemotionaloutpouringthanmostothereventsonsocialmedia,rewardingpeoplewhoareabletoperpetuallyfeelvictimizedwithever-growingamountsofattentionandsympathy.

           “Victimhoodchic”isinstyleonboththerightandthelefttoday,amongboththerichandthepoor.Infact,thismaybethefirsttimeinhumanhistorythateverysingledemographicgrouphasfeltunfairlyvictimizedsimultaneously.Andthey’reallridingthehighsofthemoralindignationthatcomesalongwithit.
