Ourescapehitthepapersyesterday,andthetabloidshadafieldday.OnthesecondpageoftheDailyPresstherewasanoldpictureofmeandasketchofawhitemouse.Theheadlineread:Moron-GeniusandMouseGoBerserk.NemurandStraussarereportedassayingIhadbeenundertremendousstrainandthatIwouldundoubtedlyreturnsoon.Theyofferedafive-hundred-dollarrewardforAlgernon,notrealizingweweretogether.
WhenIturnedtothelaterstoryonthefifthpage,Iwasstunnedtofindapictureofmymotherandsister.Somereporterhadobviouslydonehislegwork.

MissGordonsaysshebelievedherbrotherdeaduntillastMarch,whentheheadofthepsychologydepartmentatBeekmanUniversityapproachedherforpermissiontouseCharlieinanexperiment.
